The best thing that happened this week
This week I released Burst version 1.3.0 which includes 19 achievements to chase after, plus translations to Dutch, French and German. I also added a new power-up called Cross. I hope people enjoy the update! I'm getting a few reviews in on the App Store already, and they're all quite positive so far. Happy with how this little game turned out!

I also finished a migration at work which is a big relief right before I head out for the summer holidays. This week has been a huge one for engineering work in general, with the Envoy Gateway migration finished, implementing auto-scaling using VictoriaMetrics and KEDA and enabling zone-aware routing on our production cluster.
Playing
Absolutely nothing this week. I was too busy with work and I was also still recovering from a virus that I caught last week. I really do hope I can get some playtime in next week, but I have a feeling that won't be the case.

Switchfoot's new album Forever Now has been playing almost the entire week.
Random things
- I just bought myself a Garmin Cirqa which is kind of a Whoop competitor. The goal is to wear my 'normal' watches more often and use the Cirqa to track my sleep and body functions. Then I will only wear my Forerunner 570 when I'm going for a run. I'm slightly concerned about having to charge two Garmin devices now but we'll see how that goes once the Cirqa arrives.
- This whole saga with Codeberg banning AI generated code has been wonderful to follow. I think the decision is bit rash, and will introduce a lot of infighting and drama on Codeberg more than anything. It's funny how people have left GitHub because of downtime and censorship, to jump ship for a different platform with even more downtime and censorship. Good luck with that. I've since removed my account on there and decided never to use or even consider using it again.
- The Home Assistant experiment came to an end. It's great software, but definitely not for me. It's way too finicky and I didn't get a ton of use out of it.
- For the past two weeks I've been using Safari with uBlock Origin Lite instead of Firefox and it's been great. I don't think I need Firefox anymore, unless something in Safari starts annoying me, then I'll be quick to revert to Firefox. In any case, Safari is now my browser of choice, who would've thought?
- I'm trying to switch from using VS Code to Helix because VS code has been annoying me with constant updates and AI features I don't want. So far the learning curve has been pretty steep but I never expected to be able to switch just like that.
- I also switched OrbStack for Apple Container. No comments on that so far, it just works?
